As a waterway, the ditch can portray how emotions are wearing away at your foundation. It can also suggest a place where you ‘ditch’ something and allow it to be covered or buried through the accumulating passage of time. Sometimes it suggests a ‘last ditch effort,’ where you may be forced to approach the ditch to dis-cover or ‘uncover’ the truth of something.
